Q1. When and how did you start working as a Commerce Tutor?
I started teaching after my matriculation because it has been my passion since childhood. Few role models in my school were Shoba Madam and Murli Sir (whose purpose of teaching was to help students understand the subject from basics and make the roots strong). Eventually, I graduated in commerce, and now I’m a semi-qualified Cost Accountant (CMA), pursuing the final level.
Q2. What skills are required to become a Commerce Tutor?
Few skills which every teacher should possess, in my opinion, is based on Einstein quote-“If you can’t explain it to a six-year-old, you probably don’t understand it yourself”.
1. Making the subject simple to understand.
2. Knowing the subject from its basics.

A tutor is not a person who only delivers knowledge but also shapes the student’s future by kindling & nourishing his/her strengths and stands by the student in his/her weakness for encouragement to improve.

Though I started this career early, it took some time to make a mark. I can say I’m still struggling to stand out. But with the support of all my students, I’ll definitely see a day when I can break through and find a turning point.

Ajit Kumar Tutika is a graduate in Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Berhampur University and completed ICMAI Intermediate from Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India. He is pursuing ICMAI Final from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India. After completing matriculation, he taught students and worked in various MNC as an Account executive and Audit analyst. Presently Ajit is running his own institute.
