Mathematics is one of the most important subjects students need to learn to have a great career ahead and solve many mathematical problems we come across every day. Mathematics is a popular subject because of its utility in every aspect of life. Without maths, leading an everyday and functional life is nearly impossible. The demand for math tutors is thus never going to cease. Most of the students find it challenging to understand, and therefore mathematics tuition is in demand.
Although Mathematics is important, only a few people have successfully mastered it and achieved fame in the long run. We will discuss the work and life of some of the renowned mathematicians here.
Euclid-
This person is popularly known as the ‘Father of Geometry’. His contribution towards Geometry is acclaimed highly and known as Euclidean Geometry. On many boards, his Geometry is included in class ix. He is widely known for his lifetime work in the Geometry field and his revolutionary contribution towards its development.
Thales of Miletus-
He is one of the most famous Mathematicians who has contributed significantly to the field of Geometry. Thales of Miletus, born in Greece, was a skilled mathematician who calculated the heights of pyramids and successfully measured a ship’s distance from the shore. Not only a successful mathematician, but he was also a great philosopher. His theorem is known as Thales theorem. Here he tried to apply Geometry by using different reasoning and developed the conclusion of four corollaries.
Pythagoras-
We all have heard about the ‘Pythagoras theorem’, which is one of the most important mathematical formulas students tend to learn in their school days. Using this formula, many of us have tried to solve mathematical problems since childhood. This unique formula is very effective and handy while solving mathematical problems, and thus Pythagoras is known as the father of the ‘Pythagoras theorem’. Although he was born in Greece, according to historians, he lived the latter part of his life in India.
Aristotle-
Aristotle is a great scholar known for vast knowledge in the innumerable sphere, which broadly includes Biology, Mathematics, Geology, Psychology, Metaphysics, Physics and Medicine. Being a student of Plato, he also worked with him to contribute hugely in the field of mathematics and discover many philosophical theories.
Archimedes-
Every one of us has heard about Archimedes’ principles. This has been one of the most famous mathematical principles of all time. Archimedes was a well-known Greek scientist who was also a great Physician and Mathematician. He mainly worked throughout his life in discovering various mathematical formulas based on Physics. His work for antiquity, screw pumps and pulleys in mathematics are regarded as his best contribution in the field of Mathematics. Now the school students of class x learn about these pulleys and antiquity while studying maths.
Diophantus-
He is known as the Father of Algebra because of these easy solutions to any algebraic equations. He has also written a series of books dedicated to Algebra. He is also hugely acclaimed for his book Arithmetica. Here in the book, he gave the best possible solution to all the algebraic equations and to the theory related to the number.
These are some of the most important mathematicians who have been remembered for their contribution and great work in the field of mathematics. Learning about mathematicians is necessary to have a clear idea about their struggles and contributions. But students who are new in this field need to have proper guidance to solve the mathematical problems, and so they must join mathematics tuition. Nowadays, learning mathematics has become extremely easy with online math tutors; students can get all the facilities while staying in their home and comfort zone. Such a system has helped in uninterrupted learning, which is beneficial for the students and society as a whole.
