Have you ever heard people saying their child are left-brain oriented? I am sure, you have heard about the left or right brain concepts at various TV channels, read articles online and magazines. Typically, children with dominant left-brain tend to be logical, objective, analytical and perform well in academics. They are good at planning and getting things done independently but struggle to cope up in a social situation.

Sounds familiar? But would like to know more about left-brain oriented traits. In that case, we have listed few traits found in left-brained children for your better understanding:

  1. Logical & analytical: Typically, the left-brain oriented children are logical and analytical in dealing with things or solving a problem at hand.
  2. Organized: You will rarely find yourself instructing your child with dominant left brain, to clean his room or arrange his stuffs properly. They usually would be well-organized.
  3. Fares well in Math: Numbers and calculations would be more like a fun teaser to these left-brained children.
  4. Memorized by repetition: Tend to memorize facts by writing or listening to audios repetitively
  5. Prefers working alone: These left-brained children prefer working solo. They take pride in their work and want to give their best.
  6. Routines are all fine: Unlike the right-brained children, the left-brain oriented kids are fine with routine things like having breakfast at the same time, and following rules or instructions. Actually, they prefer set rules rather than doing things randomly.
  7. Loves planning: These organized children have the habit of planning things in advance, to avoid chaos and complete things within time.
  8. Lacks interest in outdoor activities: These children like to spend more time with themselves. So you could see they are less interested in taking part in outdoor activities or sports.
  9. Decision making: Make decisions after considering a number of evidence and information. With the left-brain child, taking a decision is always a calculated action. They are not likely to take decisions on a whim or gut feeling alone.
  10. Likes to read: They are more into reading, learning about new concepts and stuffs.
  11. Good at following directions: These kids can easily follow directions. They have great sense of directions.

The left-brain child can be great at studies and do everything following instructions. But they may find themselves a little awkward in social scenes, where they need to interact with other kids or make friends. Being a parent, you can help your child loosen up a bit and try to instill in them – the love for outdoor games and numerous interesting activities.
