How Can You Manage Time?

Time management is one of the primary concerns of the professionals and students today. Here are some useful time management tips that could help you make time for things you want to do or achieve:

  • To-do List

You should make a to-do list every day. It must have all the important tasks at the top and even if you find them tedious or tough, just finish them first. You can also include the tasks you’re planning to do ahead in the recent upcoming time. If you’re able to accomplish everything you have on the list, you shall encourage yourself for doing well.

To Do List

  • Time Allocation

After you’re done making a to-do list, decide and allocate the duration and the final point of time by which a specific task must be completed. This will entirely depend upon your priorities. Defining deadlines will actually help you stay alert and organized. This is a good thing to do while preparing for an exam.

  • Find our productive time

There is always a time when we find ourselves to be the most active and energetic. Some of us prefer working late at night while some prefer working in the early morning hours. So find out the time when you’re the most productive. The overall efficiency will increase if you work when you’re at your best. Students also shall find out the best time when they can study well.

  • Check time overspending/ wasting

Find out where you are wasting time.  Overspent time could be used using much more productively. Figure out if you spend too much time surfing the internet, watching TV or making phone calls. Time is precious and you really can’t afford to waste it.

Time Wastage

  • Avoid Distractions

By distractions, we mean the people who might not value the time you have planned to spend on a task at hand. Avoid any interruptions while you’re working on something important. This will not only help you maintain your concentration but will also potential save the task from getting delayed.

  • Always do the Worst First

To ensure your mental satisfaction, start your day working on what seems to be the most difficult task to you. Once you’ve completed the toughest task, the next tasks would seem to be easier.

  • If possible, Carry your work with you

Say if you want to prepare an important report and you have to travel in a train. In such a case, you can carry your laptop and data along with you and you can work while travelling. So whenever you’re going somewhere, check if you could possibly carry any work to be done.

Say NO

  • Don’t be afraid to say “No”

The more occupied you are, the more people will expect your time. They could be your family, friends or colleagues. So when you know that you’re busy working on something important, learn to say No. Don’t think how your cousin or friend will feel if you couldn’t accompany them on a movie. Others may or may not be able to value your time. So it’s your responsibility to be honest and say No to them.

Time is money. If you could manage yourself, you could manage time!
