National Institute Of Open Schooling — The Many Courses In An Open School

The National Institute of Open Schooling, which used to be known as National Open School, is an institution that was established in the year 1989. The institute was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development as an autonomous organization. The institute offers a variety of courses and each state has open schools as well. Courses might vary according to the school, but the majority of the courses remain the same. Courses In Group B – Mathematics, Science, Social, Economics, Business Studies, Home Science, Psychology, Culture and Heritage, Painting and Word Processing.

Courses such as science, word processing and home science have theory as well as practical classes.

Senior Secondary Level Courses

This course is designed for those who clear the secondary level course and it is the equivalent of XIIth standard level of education in India. Some of the courses offered at this level are mentioned below:

Courses In Group A – Hindi, Sanskrit, English and Urdu.

Courses In Group B – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Political Science, Word Processing, Commerce, Accountancy, Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, Mass Communication, Painting, Home Science, and History.

Vocational Education Courses

The institute also offers a whole range of vocational courses and these are available in different formats such as six month formats and one year formats. Some of the different courses that are available under this category have been listed below:

Certificate Courses on IT Essentials

This is a six month course that is offered in collaboration with Cisco. Students who have successfully completed their Xth standard will be eligible to apply for this course. The course offers an introduction into the IT industry and students get introduced to the mechanics of hardware, operating systems and personal computers. The medium of instruction is available in Hindi as well as English.
