Here is an excerpt of the interview with Nimesh:
Q1. When and how you started as an IAS Coaching Trainer?
Ans. I started as an IAS Coaching Trainer in 2010. Those days coaching happened mostly in online mode. In 2013, I started my own institute, THE CONCEPT. Since then, I have been teaching and giving counselling to aspirants who were preparing for IAS and various other competitive exams.
I had prepared and written the IAS exam and other competitive exams conducted by UPSC and cleared the written tests most of the times. My personal experience of writing the exams and knowledge of the topics, have motivated me to guide and teach the aspirants who are appearing for the exam.
After graduating as an Engineer, I was naturally inclined towards learning and taking competitive exams. While preparing for the IAS exam, I had to face serious hurdles and misguided a lot, when I had to reply on people due to my ignorance or lack of sufficient knowledge.
And in my humble endeavour, I am trying to guide and teach IAS aspirants with correct orientation and methodology. I have been providing personalised teaching and counselling to all my students keeping in mind every individual’s strengths and weakness.
Q2. What skills are required to become an IAS Coaching Trainer?
Ans. It is good to have the following skill sets in an IAS Coaching Trainer:
1. Wide knowledge base
2. Dedication
3. Updated with events around you
4. Teaching in an interesting and innovative method
5. Small size batches
6. Personal attention to each student
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other IAS Coaching Trainers on UrbanPro.com?
Ans. My philosophy of teaching methodology is perhaps what makes me different from others. Before I began regular classroom teaching, I provide multiple counselling sessions to the aspirants. I make them understand about the examination process and the likely difficulties they may face during their preparations. Since the Civil Services Exam/IAS exam is a three-stage process taking more than a year, so I try to ensure that every aspirant must be patience and persevere while consistently working hard. My batch size is small, so I keep a track of these qualities with regard to each and every aspirant.
Q4. How you came across UrbanPro.com?
Ans. Through Internet.
Q5. What was the turning point in your career?
Ans. Prior to 2013, my teaching mode was primarily online in nature. In November 2013, when I got married to my wife Mrs. Chinu Nimesh Singhvi, she made me aware that my talent is more suitable for classroom teaching. It was her evaluation and my introspection that made me start my institute THE CONCEPT.
Q6. How UrbanPro.com platform helped you to expand your IAS Coaching Classes?
Ans. UrbanPro provides a good transparent platform both for a teacher and a student. More importantly, this platform has high element of trust associated with it.
Q7. What percentage of your work comes from UrbanPro?
Ans. 25-30%
