Q1. How you started your career as an IIT JEE Trainer?
Ans. I started as an Olympiad Trainer at Lucknow. After two years, I shifted to writing books at CMS Lucknow. I ghost wrote many books including ‘All Possible Type Questions for XII Math’. After one year, I started as IIT JEE trainer at Trivag, a premier IIT JEE institute in Lucknow. Later I worked at TIME, Career Point (Kota), Meccademia (Dubai) and Career Launcher (Mumbai). Later, I started my own academy in Mumbai. My purpose of starting my academy was to fill the gap between training and real education. We teach only 15 students per batch for classroom mode (Admission test based selection) and 6 students only in round table mode. We also have one-to-one training solutions.
Q2. What skills and qualities do you think helps you stand out from other IIT JEE Trainers?
Ans. I am quite ambitious for my students. I am never satisfied. My shortcut methods are my USP. Many of my students can testify that our shortcut methods are found nowhere.
-
We do a lot of research in training and motivational methods. Teaching is 30% motivation and sometimes more. We research on how to make notes. We research on every book available in market and choose the best for our students.
-
Our training methods are Socrates interactive training methods. Our classes are fun. It is not one way teaching approach. It is question answer based method. Students are encouraged to solve problems in class itself. We only guide them to the point that they can solve it themselves. We give a lot of homework. Important problems are solved in the class. Other problems which we feel that can be solved by students themselves are given as practice.
-
We give a lot of assignments and printed notes. We also focus on selective problem solving. We use ‘Interleaved Learning’ and many other scientific methods to ensure best learning for students.
Q3. How you came to know about UrbanPro?
Ans. I came to know about UrbanPro through Google Search.
Q4. How UrbanPro platform helped you to expand your IIT JEE Classes?
Ans. We get a lot of enquiries from UrbanPro. It is a great platform for brand building and profile showcasing. UrbanPro has a much more niche reach and premium look. The UrbanProApp is quick and very helpful for instant enquiries.
Q5. What percentage of your work comes from UrbanPro?
Ans. We get a lot of enquiries. Since we are very selective in students, the percentage really does not matter. But yes a lot of enquiries do help us to be choosier.
Q6. One piece of advice you would like to give to new JEE Trainers on UrbanPro?
Ans. New trainers must not look for fees primarily and focus on brand building and imparting education. Money always follows excellence. Teaching takes time to learn. Give yourself more exposure in first two years of teaching. You have to solve a lot of problems yourself in the beginning to become a Pro.
