A child from the day it is born starts to understandabout the various the various phenomenon that happen around him. But this is a very random way of assimilating thoughts and needs to be channelized to a particular order of learning so as to allow him to effectively live and mentally evolve in the social scenario. For this purpose the system of education is introduced.
India is a country which has long followed the tradition of teaching and learning. But the current scenario clearly shows that learning is no longer a priority rather it is survival in the competitive strata. The best example being the movie 3 idiots .We are utilising mental energy just for our own comfort and for deceiving others for better respect in society but it is meant for a more primal objective of improving the lives of mankind as a whole. Every person or quality has its place in the society, which if manipulated can be disastrous.
If we talk of primary and secondary education then many are deprived of it, but what about the ones who have it. Are they understanding its true potential and utilising their acquired skills to the fullest? The answer is no. People are working only in that direction which is conventionally followed or seems to be very rewarding. But is not the satisfaction obtained from the achievement of society as a whole a reward in itself.
The primary and secondary system is still much better made than its successor because every individual requires some basic understanding of all fields which they do deliver. But what about the higher education system in our country. Why do we have to follow the orders and pedagogies followed by foreign universities when the real learning has been evolved in India in the past? Why people are forced to take up teaching as a profession when they cannot be selected in other fields? Why most of the student crowd believes that ‘padhai’ is a mere boundation and is only to be done to satisfy our parents andgain respect in the society?
This clearly shows that most of the people involved in the process of education do not understand its true meaning or do know it but are not ready to initiate any steps to revolutionise the system in such a way so as to satisfy all spheres of human intellect. The solution therefore is to be educated about education itself. To know how the human mind works and what factors do actually give us happiness or satisfaction.
Our mind basically comprises of two aspects which are logic and emotion generated by the conscious and sub conscious layers respectively. Emotions are random while logic is discrete element but when both are synchronised our conscious and sub conscious mind both come to play so we can perform a task to the best of our abilities. These and in fact, most things in life maintain a constant alternation to keep in balance that means our logical abilities are regenerated when we express positive and negative emotions. That means a constant learning requires us to synchronise our emotions along with it. That s why all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Then why do we shut down all expressions as soon as we enter a classroom andsay okay it s time to study or rather find ways to have enjoyment in our spare time. Why does an elder scold a child if he spends many hours playing games and praises him if he applied the similar logic to studies?
While others try to enjoy with the work but when they are only enjoying do not give priority to the important elements of that task. Actually work and enjoyment have only one difference, which is of boundation to do that task generated in accordance with t he outer world. Due to these boundations we have to tame our subconscious mind to act in accordance with the scenario while our conscious mind is okay with it. The result enough work pal let s have a chat .
When this psychology is understood it becomes quite clear that the field that we enjoy in is the only field we can master rest we can only learn about because both of our mind abilities are in action. This means we should learn what is in accordance with our own set of emotions.
Most people today don t know that they don t know what they have to do in life . This means they think they are just line follower robots who are programmed to work on conventional programs anddo not want to even think out of league. The confused are still better than them since they are searching for the right fields, although wasting an important phase of their lives most of them bound to another conventional stream biggest examples being engineering and medical sciences.
How does one come to know which field to choose ? Most consider the materialistic factors such as wealth andresources they obtain from a field as the main deciding criterion. Others simply find the easiest of all the fields and go for it. The correct decision can only be made if the decision maker knows about hisher own emotional attributes and intrinsic capabilities which are unique for each individual. For example to be a sportsperson one would have the stamina andthe joy to last long in a physical activity. Still majority of people opt for conventional streams in order to stand up to social expectations and end up failing themselves and their place in society.
Once chosen one needs to develop a set of derived attributes which can be done only with the help of an effective trainer and self initiatives going hand in hand and both knowing about the above discussed psychology of learning.
Once people are enlightened about these thoughts and are ready to cause a revolutionary change then it is quite practical to revolutionize the education system and make students come out of the educational institutes with more than just mere degrees in their hands .
