The practise of Surya Namaskar though less frequent in the initial stage can be increased in count with time. You can also perform Pragya Yog along with Surya Namaskar to increase the benefits.
Pranayam Kriya
Those suffering from asthma can perform Nadi shodhan pranayam kriya as control over inhalation and exhalation increases when one performs the same. Bhastrika Pranayam Kriya can also be performed as this help increase the strength level of lungs and helps one recover from asthma.
Shavasana
As the name implies, Shavasana means lying silently like the dead one. This asana is much similar in approach to Yog nidra and is considered to be of much importance when it comes to curing asthma through yogic kriya. You will need to practice the Shavasana on a daily basis to recover from asthma.
In case, you do not find sufficient time to practice Yog nidra on a daily basis, you can try lying down in Shavasana position. As you lie down in Shavasana, you must practice breathing down to your stomach. Dhyan or Meditation
Those suffering from asthma can practise Ajapa Jap which essentially involves breathing up and down from throat to the naval. Chanting of Soham mantra is also considered good while performing this asanaa. This asana is well known to remove the root cause of asthma if practised on a regular basis.
Upwas or fast
Upwas is considered to be an old yogic technique and it cleans your immune system to the core. Fasting once a week is great for the immune system and your chances of faster recovery from asthma increase in case you fast on a regular basis. When you decide to fast, ensure that you take simple food which comprises of fresh fruits along with loads of water.
