Animation is a technique of displaying still images in a very fast succession, in order to create an illusion of movement. It is ideally an action of imparting life to the immovable objects. Computer animation, on the contrary, is the technique where animated images are developed by using computer graphics. Animation has a direct association with the entertainment world: movies, television, and video games.
Animation is a several billion dollar industry. It has created numerous job opportunities- from technology oriented jobs such as game designing to creative work roles like visual-effects. A lot of people have a misconception that computer skills alone can make a successful animator. The truth is that the best quality computer animation requires skills that can only be acquired through the study of art. The major areas in Animation are Gaming, Multimedia, Visual Effects and Web Designing.
