Here is an excerpt from the interview with Divya Kapoor, a Tutor from Delhi:
Q1. When and how did you start as a Tutor?
Ans. I started teaching Economics and Maths when I was in the second year of my college. I used to teach at a coaching centre near my house after coming back from college. From then, I developed a strong liking towards this profession and always wanted to go into this field. This led to the opening of my own educational centre named, Bookista. Now here, we are a team of teachers who try to help students in their studies in the best way we can.
Q2. What skills are required to become a Tutor?
Ans. The best skill a teacher should know and learn is how to present a topic or concept. It is something which always makes a boring topic seems interesting to students.
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other Tutors on UrbanPro.com?
Ans. My positive point is that I always try to teach, as per the student’s level of knowledge. I always believe in having an interactive class rather than just teaching and student listening.
Q4. How you came across UrbanPro.com?
Ans. I came across UrbanPro through one of my colleagues.
Q5. What was the turning point in your career?
Ans. The turning point in my career came when I entered into full-time teaching by opening my own centre rather than taking it as a part-time career during my college days.
Q6. How UrbanPro.com platform helped you to expand your Tuition Classes?
Ans. It has helped me a lot. I have started getting more queries from students who are looking out for tuition for Maths and Economics. Moreover, it has also helped me expand into other areas like UGC NET classes etc.
Q7. What percentage of your work comes from UrbanPro.com?
Ans. 80% of my work comes from UrbanPro.
