Physiotherapy qualifying exam and eligibility
Basic eligibility
- A candidate should be a citizen of India
- Should have passed the Higher Secondary with PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English
- A minimum of 50% should be secured in all the subjects
- Applicants should be at least 17 years old
- He/she should have passed any of the physiotherapy entrance exams e.g. CET (Common Entrance Test), AIPTET (All India Physiotherapy Entrance Test) and more
- Once students clear the CET (entrance test), they can study Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T) program
Physiotherapy courses in India
Aspiring physiotherapist should study a degree or diploma course for 3 to 4 years or even short-term courses for 3 months, which can be started once they complete their 12th Standard in Science stream with English. The diploma courses are generally of 2 years while degree courses can be extended up to 4.5 years. Once a student completes the degree course, he/she can further pursue a Master’s in Physiotherapy for 2 years. Further he/she should work as assistant physiotherapist under an established or experienced physiotherapist or could do an internship at a hospital or healthcare center.
