Q1. When and how did you start as a biology tutor?
In the year 2009, I was a graduate student and one of my neighbours,’ was in search of a class XII biology tutor for his son. When he approached me, I agreed to give tuitions to that student. I guided the student by teaching him few tricks to memorise lessons and made him practice some MCQs. When his results were out, I came to know that he secured 98% in the CBSE class 12 examinations. He also did qualify for AIPMT that year. That is was a moment of n immense motivation for me to start as a biology tutor.
Q2. What skills are required to become a Biology tutor?
Having a keen interest in the living world is imperative. A tutor has to be interactive with students and has to maintain good relationships with them. It is also crucial to help students understand the anatomies, structures and concepts with practicals, diagrams and real-life examples. One has to be willing to share his/her knowledge.
Q3. What do you think makes you stand out from other Biology tutors on UrbanPro.com?
Since I have been extremely passionate about biology from my childhood, I try to create and help retain the interest in the students regarding the subject. And this not only helps them secure good marks in board exams but also in qualifying for national level medicine entrance tests such as- AIPMT/NEET, AIIMS and JIPMER. I teach fusion methods, i.e., with the help of powerpoint presentations and also with classroom diagrams to make students understand the topic easily and interestingly. Being a straightforward person, I try to be my students’ friend, philosopher and guide.

Q5. What was the turning point in your career?
It once happened that under my guidance, one of my students secured 97% in board exams and also qualified for the medical entrance exam. The following year, another student scored 94 marks in biology and got admission in Forensic Biotech course. It was then that I decided to spread my knowledge and help students accomplish their dreams.
