How to help your child in learning 10th standard maths?

Maths has always been considered as one of the toughest subjects by a large number of students. And 10th standard maths can be threatening for many. But it is just a misconception. Most students say that the concepts and basics in maths of 10th standard are very tough and hard to understand, hence scoring good marks is a task. Well, we say it is not that way and we are here to help!

So, if maths is giving 10th standard students out there some nightmarish jitters, here are some tips for parents to help their children learn maths with ease. Have a look.

Monitor your child’s progress: The foremost thing that one must focus on is that their child should solve maths problems only after understanding the concept and not by using any tenth class math’s guide. Using a guide could cut down on a child’s effort to study concepts thoroughly thus leading to zero understanding. As the questions turn tricky every year during 10th standard examinations, lack of understanding of concept will do no good. So, monitoring the child’s study plan and progress is a must by parents.

Celebrate successes and learn further: Even though the child is unable to get high scores, parents ought to be supportive. They need to understand their child’s learning capacity and celebrate their smallest of successes, thus motivating them to learn further and induce liking towards the subject.

Set goals: Math’s formula for class 10th are not very difficult to learn but it could be, for a few students. Ideally, in that situation, parents should set some goals that are easy for them to meet. As soon children start meeting their goals, the confidence would boost and eventually they would start performing well on the subject.

Reward children for meeting goals: After parents have asked their children to meet these goals that they have set for them, we advise rewarding children for the same. This further increases their confidence and gives them a push for going for the next goal which should be a bit tough than the previous one comparatively. These small things boost the morale of the child to cope with 10th standard pressure and deal with things confidently.

Set an Example: The first teacher in a child’s life is their parents. Every parent must set an example in front of them about what lifelong learning looks like and how passing 10th standard mathematics shouldn’t be a big task when coming to other aspects of life. This will help children in distress to relax and focus better.

While we mention the above tips, we suggest parents introduce their children to class 10th math’s solutions for them to get comfortable with step by step solution finding and understand the marks distribution pattern.

This would help them with their problem-solving skills and make them understand everything step by step.
